EasyMalwareBlocker efficiently blocks any attempts to clandestinely install unwanted malicious software of any kind (including rootkits) that may occur while surfing the Internet. These threats have become more common recently and now pose one of the biggest risk for your computer.
Not all of other Security Programs can prevent drive-by-downloads, if they do they use difficult to maintain malware reference lists; many only find them after they have been installed.
EasyMalwareBlocker protects your computer immediately after the program has been installed and started, out-of-the-box!
There is no need to answer any cryptical questions in a setup session like in other Internet Security Programs*.
*This only applies to customers who newly install or re-install their XP Operating System (OS). If you do
NOT want to re-install the OS you will have to answer a few questions but you are given hints on what to look at so clicking the appropriate button (Block or Allow) should not prove that difficult.
For maximum protection of your computer system not only one but two different so called drivers have been implemented.
- The File System Monitor generally blocks writing of any potentially dangerous files to the File System. Drive-by-downloads of executable files are always blocked and installing of new programs from any source can also be prevented. Exceptions to this rule apply, see below.
- The Network System Monitor's (also called "Firewall") main job is to prevent that any (personal) data is being transmitted over the Internet (and the (W)LAN network) (Outgoing Firewall) without your explicit consent. It also blocks network traffic to ports which are unnecesssarily open by default (Incoming Firewall).
- EasyMalwareBlocker also provides sophisticated tools to show the current state of your computer system and to verify its own operation. However, these tools are only for experts.
- - Startup Programs: This utility lists many kind of currently existing startup items. It also compares this list with a Reference File and lists new startup items, if any, separately, in another list in typically less than 5 seconds.
- - Compare Executable Files: This utility is provided to verify the operation of EasyMalwareBlocker itself. It detects and shows newly written or deleted executable files in typically less than 5 minutes. Checking for modified files typically takes 8 .. 20 minutes*. Experts can see if Ad- and/or Spyware, viruses, worms, etc, has/have been installed, but that should never have happened when the File System Monitor has always been in either 'Safe' or 'Supersafe' mode.
Compare these times with a common Internet Security Suite where everybody, experts included, has to wait for an hour or even two until one gets a result which is more often than not not even meaningful. "Anti Virus xxx has found 35 Cookies. Would you like to delete them?".
* Partition C: only, that's the most important. Checking for modified files typically takes 5 .. 15 minutes.

EasyMalwareBlocker packs all these recommendations in one single program. Install and run EasyMalwareBlocker
and your computer is protected, efficiently protected that is. Period.
There is NO need to regularly run time consuming Anti Virus, Anti Spyware Programs, etc, anymore as writing any
malware on the File System (eg the Hard Disk) is prevented in the first place, so there is no need to clean up the
mess by running these Virus Scan and Remover Programs which often takes an hour or even two.
You can use your Microsoft Windows XP Operating System (Home or Pro) (TM) for years to come.
Unlike in other computers which are "protected" by competitor's Internet Security Suites - EasyMalwareBlocker does
NOT allow malware to clandestinely install itself (called drive-by-downloads) in the first place, therefore these kind of malware do NOT have to be searched and removed afterwards. They also can not, for instance, delete personal files before malware is finally detected and removed.
Please read the next chapter for installing new programs of your choice.
A password can be set to get access to the administrative parts of File System Monitor, Parental Control and Delete Traces. Access is denied to EasyMalwareBlocker's own folders which contain the files with sensitive data and can therefore NOT be manipulated.
Boot to 'Save Mode' can be blocked by a click on a button so that your smart and computer savvy offspring can NOT circumvent the imposed restrictions easily.
EasyMalwareBlocker also provides sophisticated tools to verify its own operation as stated above.
Downloading and installing new programs and other executable files is possible. If a password is set it has to be entered to get access to the FSM Panel on which you can temporariliy change the FSM mode to 'Install' or 'Disabled'. In these modes the File System Monitor Protection is disabled.
After returning back to one of the normal protective modes EasyMalwareBlocker performs a quick system check and tells you in typically 5 seconds what kind of software has been installed like drivers, Browser Helper Objects, Toolbars, WinLogon items, programs, etc. For newbies a Help button is provided to give a quick rundown on different types of software and which programs install what kind of subprograms.
No conceivable overall computer performance loss, quite unlike some competitors security suites.
Spy Protection (NO private data is going to be transmitted over the Internet without your explicit consent!).
Programs AND modules involved in accessing the Internet are being controlled by EMB.
(The Firewall included in Microsoft's Windows XP is next to useless... It can only detect programs which send data over the Internet, but modules which can do so too are simply ignored.)
EasyMalwareBlocker blocks unnecessarily listening ports so malware like viruses, adware, spyware, trojans,
worms, rootkits, etc can NOT clandestinely install themselves on your computer, most often without your consent or
knowledge.
Support for Small Home Networks
Small Home Networks are fully supported.
- Predefined genres: Porn*, Violence, Nazi, Sports. *You have the option to allow web sites with sexual education contents. There are some predefined sites which you can delete and/or add new ones in order to adapt to the age of your child(ren).
- Customer defined wordlist (If any word listed is found in a website it will be blocked)
- Customer defined whitelist (URLs in that list will always be correctly displayed)
- Customer defined blacklist (URLs in that list will always be blocked)
- Fully customizable allowed computer- and Internet access times (maximum time and 3 time frames)
- On ordinary 33k/56k Modem connections EMB protects you from being connected to (expensive) providers of
dubious contents.
- Your computer can NOT be remotely controlled by other computers without your explicit consent. (In case
you need help from a remote knowledgeable friend you can still use that feature.)
- The Hijacking Protection prevents redirecting the browsers to unwanted commercial sites
every time you launch them.
The newer versions of the browsers have built-in phishing protection (which EMB does not provide).
EasyMalMareBlocker also provides sophisticated system check utilities to show the current state of your
computer. And to doublecheck its own operation too!
- 1) Lists all most important Startup Programs and Drivers that are loaded and started at Boot Time. So called 'Browser Helper Objects' (BHO) and objects started from other non-standard locations in the Registry are also shown, including a short description about the start location. With a single click most kind of these different types of programs can be disabled (and re-enabled).
- 2) Unlike the Windows Taskmanager, EasyMalwareBlocker lists all currently running tasks, including the
ones who try to hide themselves such as Rootkits.
- 3) After a new program has been installed in 'Install/Uninstall' mode EasyMalwareBlocker will
tell in typically less than 5 seconds whether critical components like drivers, BHOs, toolbars and other objects have been installed so that corrective action can be taken if necessary.
- 4) Another handy feature is a built-in utility that compares the current list of most types of
executable files with a reference file list which was created at an earlier time when the computer certainly was UN-infected
by malware, so experts can see what has to be done to get rid of new or modified items if the need
arises*.
- 5) There is another surprise feature we don't tell you about here. It's very useful if you want to know
whether malware has indeed been blocked or not. You have got to find out yourself...*
*These utilities are working blazingly fast and deliver results in typically 3 minutes or less (C:\ partition
only), except 4) for 'Modified' mode. Compare that to common Ad- and Spyware Removal Tools which usually take
about 1 hour or more to scan your system!
When you surf the Internet you always leave traces behind. Every site (URL) visited is automatically recorded and
written to the Hard Disc by the Operating System.
Traces can only be deleted by users who know the password for the Parental Control form, if any is set.
- Microsoft's Internet Explorer also has an option to remove traces left behind when surfing. Unlike them, EasyMalwareBlocker can remove ALL the traces on request.
- Traces left behind when surfing with the Firefox and/or the Opera Browser can also be deleted.
- Unique feature: There is an option to delete selected traces automatically at every boot time (for the
most common 3 browsers).
- Should any malware program "kill" EasyMalwareBlocker or the system unloads it due to a severe error a
messagebox pops up to tell you that EasyMalwareBlocker is no longer running. You have the option to immediately restart it.
- The Security Monitor also warns you every time a browser is launched and EasyMalwareBlocker is either
not running or in 'Disabled' or 'Install' mode, also with an option to restart it or to change the FSM Mode.
Supports Windows XP Updates
There is no need to download and install Microsoft's Windows Operating System Security Updates when
EasyMalwareBlocker is running all the time (default). However, if you feel safer, even these security updates are
supported and new executable files are also automatically added to our Network Reference List (and Executable Files List too) in order to prevent difficult to understand questions when one of these modified files is involved in accessing the Internet for the first time (not yet implemented in Beta versions).
EasyMalwareBlocker itself requires hardly any updates
Handling updates of Reference Files is done in the background and downloading them takes very little time. Changes
take place immediately and automatically (you do NOT have to either install them or to reboot the computer).
However, new versions of the program have to be downloaded and installed manually.
Some More Features (for Geeks only)
- The Network Driver tries hard to pass all "leaktests".
- Network Ports can be configured individually (for gamers and users of Skype, for example).
- Your computer is even protected while booting up and shooting down.
- The 'Root' Section of the registry can be checked for new entries and changes. If files with normally harmless file extensions are turned into monsters or new file extensions are added to the Registry this utility will tell you about it.
- EasyMalwareBlocker not only blocks malware, it can also remove this kind of files with a built-in Malware Remover tool, even in case they cannot be deleted when the system is up and running. However, only experts are supposed to use that tool.
